Laptops and PCs are an integral part of any Higher Education, IT and Teaching Professionals jobs. Laptops have become an exceptional requirement because of its compact handling and carriage. Laptops have many specific variants, in sense of their target user base, ranging from 10 thousand to a couple of lakhs in Indian Market. But one laptop, that sales the most here, are Mid-range Multi-Tasking ones, useful for any user base like students, working professionals, Teachers, and casual Multimedia users. HP-15 bw519AU is one of such multitasking, mid-range laptops that fulfils the Daily work load requirements quite well.
Launched in 2016, initially priced at 36 to 40 grands, was just an instant sold out in Indian Markets. Being personally working on this laptop, since last 4 years, it totally justified the hype for its mid-range flagship. The Pros and Cons of the product is listed as-
PROS)
(i) Built Quality– The outer casing and integration of the laptop is quite remarkable. It feels tough and rugged by a simple touch of hands.
(ii) Screen Quality– Provided with a 15.6 inches Bright View HD display panel with 1366×768 ppi output. It goes well with IMAX, UHD, 4K and other video formats without any external media player.
(iii) Graphic Processor– An AMD Radeon R5 GPU, exerts a top-notch experience during casual surfing interfaces and gaming.
(iv) Multi-Tasking– The laptop keeps its brand name of HP, for providing very well multi-tasking performance. You can easily operate at least 6-8 background apps without any lags.
(v) Storage– Comes with a 1TB Read Memory, it gives a plenty of space for your pictures, videos, songs and Movies storage, along with some heavy apps.
(vi) Accessory Supports– It comes with all basic connectivity ports like 3.5mm jack, USB-A, USB C-type, HDMI, Gaming console vent, DVD player, etc. For which you have to buy connectors in most of the laptops.
CONS)
(i) Battery– The primary negative of the product is its Battery performance, after certain time. It works quite good during first 1.5 years from buying, but starts draining fast after that time period. At present (4th year), it gives only 5-6 hours pf backup while working.
(ii) Gaming Performance– The laptop is clearly not meant for high-end gaming at all. works good with light or old games under 30-40GB of size, above that, the lagging and heating issues are really annoying and harmful for the system.
(iii) Random Bug Issues– Most of the pre-loaded apps contract bugs on its own. The Anti-Virus software cannot debug them usually, you will have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling the apps from time to time.
As all the details mentioned above, you can make up your judgement about the product. For me, the deal was above par, as it helped and still helping me to work on my daily projects. In recent years, its price has dropped to around 25 to 28 grands, which further makes it a better option from other overpriced laptops in the segment.
